As an age group triathlete, nutrition is key to ensuring effective energy and performance.
I have been using Huel for a couple of years now and absolutely love it! Great to have a filling and (relatively) tasty product that is cruelty free and vegan.
I do find that when I have days purely on huel though that I feel more tired during workouts.
Does anyone have any tips on how to help with this?
(I.e. when to eat before and after training??)
Thanks!

i think becoz huel is so effective for weight loss the whole concept of calories being simply calories is probably not the whole story.
i find i use energy more efficiently with huel, it doesnt hang around inside me - the energy , it gets used up.
thats my experience.
I usually use Huel about 2hrs before moderate or intense exercise and immediately after exercise with protein powder added if necessary.
On occassion, I use also pre workout, double espresso or red bull. I know that the use of the products is contentious to some but I find it effective.
I have a shake at 12:30 (my breakfast), do my exercise from 1:30-2:30ish and a shake at 3:30pm. Works well, I’m not a fan of exercising in a fasted state but I’m never sure about pre or post exercise nutrition being the best option so the advantage of an IF eating window is that I get to do both!
I regularly have Huel and other Complete Foods as 95%+ of my diet and whilst I wouldn’t say I’m super fit or active I do cycle between 35-45miles more days than not and I run as well.
If I know it’s going to be an active day I’ll have Huel Black or a bit of extra protein beforehand and then regular Huel during, and Huel Black or extra protein after. Seems to work for me and I can’t say I get overly tired during activity. Well, not any more than I would do anyway.
Though… I’ll also have around 3,000 calories give or take. Could it be you’re under eating for the activity you’re doing?
