Huel ice cream, anyone?

Turns out Huel makes for a very nice, creamy and filling ice cream - this is 600ml of Black Edition Salted Caramel, frozen for 24 hours and then run through a Ninja Creami ice cream blender (but any high speed blender will do).

Absolutely gorgeous :grimacing::blush:

Do you pinky promise it taste’s good? Because I tried to do it with Black edition powder and I don’t know what I did but it came out like frozen rocks.

I did think about the ready to drink but instantly started to doubt myself :smiling_face_with_tear:

Yep, almost a creamy texture. Temperature is important - too cold (-30C) and the texture is more powdery; around -20C it’s slightly more homogenous and gives a very nice mouth feel (I very much dislike that phrase…).

You do need a good blender though - the Ginja does a better job than my other blender…

When I lived in Malaysia, I made Huel ice cream quite a bit. The powdered ones were OK, but RTD’s made better ice cream for taste and texture IMH. I used an electric ice cream and gelato maker with a built-in compressor so it was extra easy to do with no prep and ready in under an hour. Cinnamon Swirl RTD with some honey swirled in near the end of the churning was a favourite as was Rum & Raisin using vanilla or chocolate as a base. Always went a bit heavy handed with the rum though that slowed the freezing time down. And my mental faculties.

MAN, I just wanna get home and throw the Ninja Creami on!

But on the plus side, RUM!:grimacing:

Oh I’m in trouble now! Might just have to have all my Huel drinks as ice cream in the summer.

Latest Ninja batches have been rhubarb (well I am in Yorkshire) with a rhubarb & ginger compote, and my neighbour gave me some cooking apples so another compote mix with cinnamon sticks is in the freezer.

Everyone seems to have one of those ninja creami machines now. It has taken over the air fryer as their top selling product.

I actually bought one of their air fryers about 18 months ago and must admit I rarely use my oven now and I can cook pretty much anything I need in it: roasted vegetables, pasta sauces, jacket potatoes, polenta, cakes (a rarity admittedly). The only thing that doesn’t fit is pizza.

it’s so they can sell you one of their pizza ovens. that’s also an air fryer.

God damn. :joy:

I just counted ninja products in my house and have counted 7 :joy:

The creami was a birthday gift to my wife but some might say I brought it with selfish intentions because a machine that makes ice cream, why not aye! :smiling_face_with_tear:

I didn’t even know there were that many. I have a two drawer air fryer, which can pretty much make a complete meal.

And I have a ninja wok which is a really good bit of kit and is far superior to previous ones.

I do have an ice cream maker but not a ninja.

Oh yeah, they are slowly taking over the world but think they are like a sister company of Shark, I believe…probably why I have such interest.

Haha. Yes they are part of the same company. My mother in law had a shark vacuum cleaner but it wasn’t brilliant to be honest. I mean it was for a while but a bit like Dyson didn’t have the longevity of some other brands.

I have a very interesting Mark the Shark story (about another Mark the Shark, and an incident that happened in our town on father’s day).
