New Black Edition Flavour and Unflavoured! ☕

I’m not sure on this. You want to be consuming protein at every meal because the body can only process so much at once.

Again, not quite as simple. It’s more about overall daily calorie intake.

People have Black Edition for breakfast and some Hueligans have it before training where caffeine can be beneficial.

Yeap, this is it.

Hello @Dan_Huel could you explain this more?

“You want to be consuming protein at every meal because the body can only process so much at once.”

Does it mean that you cant compensate a high in protein breakfast with a meal and dinner with very low protein?

Purely anecdotally at this point (because I have no qualifications to back it up yet) but my understanding is that protein absorption and processing is massively differing based on the type of protein you are absorbing.

So for example, it’s far better to take in say 4 sets of 20g of protein separated by 2 hours than it would be to try to take in 80g of protein in a single meal as a lot of it would end up in the loo, but that changes hugely based on the types of protein you’re taking.

Personally I’m using Huel Black 4 times a day with additional protein and aminos and vitamins. Probably have the most expensive wee in the western world.

I believe the magic numbers are between 1.5 and 3.5 hours in terms of how much protein you can usefully metabolise. Depends on your build of course.

It depends on what you class as high protein. Around 30-35g seems to be the limit of muscle building.

For every 4 hours or so…

Is that the limit of the muscle building of the body per day or per meal?

I’m not qualified. But my understanding is that between 1.5 and 3.5 hours would be the normal rate of absorption based on need by the muscle.

Sorry per meal. Matt is right spacing out your meals every few hours is optimal if you need to get a lot of protein from your diet. The majority of people don’t need to worry about this though.

What about intermittent fasting or even OMAD with the protein absorption?

Is it bad for the muscles?

Not bad, but it’s suboptimal.

I should say that I go OMAD myself sometimes. That’s more to reduce sugar cravings though.

My usual intake is:

12:30 600 calories

Exercise

14:00 500 calories

I am a six foot three inch tall chap and I do weight training and aerobic exercise. I am eating about 500 less calories than I expend.

Rest

18:00 600 calories

Just to be really lame about all of this, but when I have a great day I basically just use Huel bars.

Lol, kill me now.

Any opinions regarding the taste of Black U/U?

My brother loves the new Black Edition Coffee Caramel, it’s his favourite, I’ve not tried it yet.

My favourite is v3.0 Berry - can’t get enough of the stuff.

My latest bag of BE Coffee Caramel is not as nice as my first ones. It tastes more like U & U with instant coffee added. No caramel flavour at all. I don’t know the batch number of my first two bags but the one I’ve just opened is 21491C

Hi I’m still working my way through my BE Coffee caramel which would probably have been your last code Bee. I am not a fan of any BE that i have tried so far but I am slowly working my way through them mixing them with either ordinary u&u or v3s. That must be a disappointment to you after enjoying your previous bags.:roll_eyes:

Do you think it is just a bad batch?

And has anyone of you tried BE UU?

Yes it is, very disappointing. Will mix with v3 Original and see how that goes.

I haven’t yet

Thanks for providing the batch info! We have definitely noticed a few complaints regarding this batch so we have decided to stop sending it while we investigate.

Please could you drop us an email at team@huel.com with your order number and a picture of the batch info so that we can pass onto the Quality Team and arrange a replacement for you as soon as possible, we are so sorry about this.
