New Flavour Boosts are here!

Tried the chocolate this morning: 1 sachet of booster (3g/1tsp) + 75g Vanilla Huel + 650ml water. It was pretty tasty! Reminded me of a milky chocolate Nesquik drink.

I have a stock of old chocolate FB too so I tasted them raw side by side. The old one definitely has way more stevia as that’s the first thing you notice, then it’s a nice milk chocolate flavour. The new booster has a slightly more artificial taste and was a bit bitter (the artificial taste/bitterness doesn’t come trough at all when mixed in Huel though). The new one seems like a darker chocolate flavour overall (but it’s definitely still milk chocolate like).

I’m thinking maybe this was supposed to be a middle man flavour between old chocolate FB and the old cacao FB…

It’s definitely nice but it’s not one I’d purchase as I always have chocolate premix on hand.

For what it’s worth premix is more of an earthy chocolate taste compared to the new booster and is significantly less sweet than Vanilla + chocolate FB. It obviously doesn’t have the complimentary vanilla tones either.

I could see it being a great option for someone who doesn’t want to commit to the premix though!

Have just tried new Mint Choc fb sachet with Original and find it more chocolatey than the old fb. I like it :+1:

I know some pro-stevia people will hate me now, but I just tried adding a tiny amount of Sucralose (less than 0.1g) to 125g of Unflavored Huel + 3g of Strawberry Flavor Boost.

It was awesome  and it tasted like an unhealthy Strawberry milkshake you can order in Starbucks or other “unhealthy” places.

I know large amounts of Sucralose may not be very healthy in the long term, but whenever you have cravings for a very sweet dessert, I bet this is much healthier than most of the things you can order outside (and most of the times I enjoy raw Unflavoured Huel).

I’m wondering if anyone ever tried to add Sucralose to their Huel?

I’ve used the myprotein flavdrops to flavour my Huel before and those are sucralose sweetened but I’ve never added just sucralose, no.

I mostly use the premixes though which are already sweetened with sucralose so have never really needed to sweeten them more.

Glad it’s working for you though! Sounds tasty.

I just tried PB flavour boost today, won’t be having it again - yuck. Didn’t taste remotely like PB in original. Can’t even describe the flavour, disappointed as was looking forward to it. I was even wondering if they put the correct powder in the sachet?

Going to try a new flavour from the sample pack each day. Had salted Caramel with chocolate premix this morning. It’s a bit too salty for my tastes. :grimacing: But admittedly I’m not a fan of salted Caramel anything to begin with.

I’ve never eaten a pumpkin, spiced or otherwise, but I have to say the taster sachet of pumpkin spice FB with 2 scoops of vanilla tastes only of cinnamon to me.

Other spices are available

I think maybe the vanilla is overpowering the other more subtle spices.
I tried it in UU/original and it was delicious. Nice blend of different spices, definitely not just cinnamon :yum:

Well Salted Caramel was a revelation and the Cherry Chocolate is kind of superb.

Cherry-chocolate might have been a smarter name for it, since the choc is suuuuper subtle but it’s really reminding me of something from my childhood, can’t quite figure it out though.

What’s this about coconut and pineapple being killed off though, say it isn’t so!?

I’ve tried choc cherry, apple cinnamon and salted Caramel now. I didn’t like any of them. :pensive:

It was my second favourite - hust behind rhubarb and custard. :frowning:

Changed my ways. I am using 1/2 tsp of the new and old one each now. That doesn’t leave me with an aftertaste/mouthfeel of the flavour for hours afterwards.

Made myself a table of all the old and new flavours I have - 7 old sweetened ones and 10 new sweetened ones - makes for 70 possible combinations. Not sure yet, whether I will dare to make all of them.
(Is there anything you can mix with Matcha?!?) :skull_and_crossbones:

Add to that the (unsweetened) Mince Pie from 2017, which I could add to each of the versions above, that makes the number of possibilities rise to 140. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
I’ll be busy… :tumbler_glass:

My order arrived yesterday (gingerbread FB and a taster package).

Tried the gingerbread, liked it a lot! Was not impressed by the peanut butter though. I add this powdered peanut butter to my Huel but wanted an alternative as I loved the taste but nog the calories this brings. Hoped that the peanut FB would do the trick, but although it’s not bad, I don’t really get the peanut flavour.

I also need to adjust to the tumeric colouring, very strange!

Gingerbread in banana premix today: I really liked it and will definitely be having that combination again.

Is the finger bread flavour strong or subtle? I’m debating buying it as I love ginger bread but haven’t liked any of the other new flavour boosts.

It’s not subtle when I make it, but I always use loads. The big advantage of the flavour boosts is they can be as strong or weak as you like.

I found it quite subtle using 5g Gingerbread in Original + Vanilla fb (I thought I would try that combination to see if it was like Vanilla premix - it was). Might put a bit more in next time and just use Original.

I just add 2g to the berry premix and it ends up nice and gingerbready. Tried it in vanilla premix but that just did overwhelm it.

I’m actually really disappointed with the new Mint Choc, it is significantly blander and less chocolatey. If you have any old stock of the flavour boost, please let me know, I’ll buy it

Hello all, first time poster here, long time lurker (well a couple of months!)

Just added a packet of the gingerbread to my next shipment and can’t wait to try it. Will be adding it to Vanilla for sure, and if I’m feeling crazy enough will give it a go with Chocolate too.

Just have to wait until the 31st to get that sweet dispatch notification!
