There’s plenty to complan (sic) about there. I’ll stick to Huel then.
Thank you, Gulliver.
Hi, I noticed that the sweetener used in the Vanilla flavoured mix is Sucralose but for the flavour packs you use Stevia.
Sucralose is an artificially made sweetener and deemed by some to destroy/damage gut bacteria amongst other deleterious effects.
Why not use stevia (a natural product) in your vanilla flavoured powder instead as you already use it in the flavour packs?
I look forward to your reply.
Regards Rick
There is a thread here. Maybe Huel is getting closer to a solution though as not been updated in a while.
My suspicion is that stevia isn’t the default due to it imparting quite a bitter aftertaste in some people. Importantly though, a) to assume natural foods/sweeteners are healthier than artificial ones is a fallacy not backed up by any evidence, and b) evidence to suggest sucralose is harmful is extremely weak and not backed up by scientific consensus (see here: http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/splenda.asp).
I agree with all those points. I am not the greatest lover of stevia, much as I think it is probably the best option. I don’t like bitter food, which is why I never liked bitter melon or brussels sprouts, and it has a bitter taste.
