Bars discontinued

There will be both nut-free and products which contain nuts :slightly_smiling_face:

Hopefully they bring back v1.0 but with a crunchy granola topping

I never tried that version but it sounds nice. :chocolate_bar:

Thanks. Will the nut free actually be nut free in the sense of safe for those with allergies?
Usually when there are both there is a chance of contamination.

No problem! Measures will be put in place but for now I’m afraid we aren’t sharing further information :eyes:

I’m sorry :bouquet: :heartpulse:

Sorry but I have to assume that means not but safe

I can’t speak for the company but if measures are being out in place it means some will be safe. Likely they will be manufactured in different facilities as cross contamination possibility in same facility would not be an appropriate measure.

I don’t think there’s any historical behaviour that would back up that assumption – whenever there has been the risk of an allergen cross contaminant in the past they have taken the remedial action to avoid it – such as with kelp and the peanut butter flavored products.

The most important thing is that unflavoured/unsweetened is not discontinued - Huel is the only company that I know that offers a neutral flavour, while the reviews for bars of other companies are better than for Huel, so I don’t think that discontinuing the bars is such a huge loss. There are also complete granolas to be found on the market. But if you want a neutral powder the only alternative to Huel is protein powder - at least as far as I know.

Umm this is a bars thread.

Kind of shitty/insensitive thing to say in a thread about one of Huel’s core products being discontinued:

mbs post was fine but off topic, yours was unnecessarily rude.
Just play nice, surely not every single part of the internet has to be like this?

It’s certainly not such a huge loss if the bars are going to be replaced with something new and improved. :crossed_fingers:

Let’s hope …

Rude: somewhat.
Unnecessarily: no.
I think my response was within the limits of reasonability, and didn’t come even close to being “unnecessarily rude”.

Here’s what @mbs said in a very roundabout way: “Hey I like this! And you guys like that. I don’t care if they discontinue that as long as I still can get this.”

Also @mbs gave some reasoning for their opinion, but the reasoning doesn’t make much sense when you look at the alternatives for the Huel bar. The alternatives are either more expensive, and/or from companies that don’t actually seem to have done their due diligence in ensuring that their product is actually healthy.

Jimmy Joy’s Plenny bar v3.0 was the only alternative I found that had the same level of affordability as the Huel bar. But their documentation about it’s nutritional values, and why they chose the ingredients that they chose isn’t even close to the level quality that Huel provided for their bar.

I too hope the new product is as good as they’re saying that it is going to be. But, I still liked the Huel bars quite a bit, and this is most certainly still a shitty and insensitive thing to say, when there are no real alternatives for it:

‘insensitive’? - to give a personal opinion which might not be shared unanimously?

wow. :snowflake:

insensitive
not feeling or showing sympathy for other people’s feelings, or refusing to give importance to something

Also, I didn’t use personal insults in any of my responses. I see no reason why anyone should use them on this forum.

You might try to avoid using words like ‘shitty’ to describe someone else’s opinion.
