Huel Bars get “sent to live on a farm” and now people are quoting the dictionary (never do that) and calling people snowflakes (never do that). We need a replacement ASAP before the murders start.
Some arsehole snitch flagged a couple of my posts last week for being off topic, and they were removed by Huel staff. I say good luck to 'em as more of my posts are off topic than on topic. They’ll get bored before I do if they wanna keep reporting me.
They’ll probably report this one too.
Yeah I had ‘one hump or two’ deleted. Not intended to be offensive at all, except literally insofar as a feeble pun might be.
btw my emoticon was meant to denote snowflakery in general, not as a judgement on an individual. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. I don’t know anyone well enough to have an opinion on character.
Life’s too short to stay on topic, especially when the topics are as dry as the ones here.
That’s not to imply Huel bars are too dry.
But they are.
Snowflakery is an invention of the gutter press, designed to widen the generational divide. Every time you invoke it you’re essentially snogging Rupert Murdoch.
Fq me.
I’m glad the bars are dead, I heard that every bar eaten removes one I.Q. point.
I bet that isn’t dry, He looks to have a very moist mouth. Unpleasant.
so many punchlines…
I bet his breath smells like a McDonalds bin. In a sunny carpark.
Robert Maxwell had quite a wet mouth when his time to die came. It probably smelled quite fishy…a bit like the circumstances surrounding it.
That’s in poor taste mate. You’ve really gone overboard.
You mean I’ve sunk to new depths?
I suggest going back to topic.
There always seems to be a lot of controversy if a product is discountinued, for some people it seems to be a very emotional issue. But as I said, no matter what you are looking for, you will always find a brand that fulfills this need.
But as I understoof it not both types of bars are discontinued, only the old one, but not the high-protein type.
From the email:
“We’re just getting in touch to let you know that we will be discontinuing our Huel Bar v3.1 and Huel Complete Protein Bar ranges. We’re really sorry if this isn’t the news you wanted to hear.”
Both slated to be delisted in September.
Also from the email:
“It’s fine to go off-topic at the weekend. Let’s all just chill out.”
I would do but they aren’t complete foods. Just hazelnuts, nougat and caramel.
All the main food groups: sugar, salt and fat.
Only one of the current 3.1 bars actually contains peanuts, yet all of the bars are labelled “may contain peanuts and nuts”. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I would assume this is due to the likelihood of cross-contamination and is therefore exactly the historical behaviour that backs up Jeff’s (and my) assumption?
It doesn’t fill me with hope for a new “nut free” Huel snack being any different to this or any other similar product on the market (and believe me, I’ve spent years trying to find one I can safely consume), but it will be a very pleasant surprise if it is.
they have produced products with nuts but usually in isolation to each other - when they couldn’t guarantee them not being cross contaminated - they were ditched, like the Peanut Butter core powders. I believe they legally have to contain the warning regardless of the remoteness of the risk if they are manufactured at the same plant if not the same building.
Rumoured to be replaced with “Huel Cookie Bites” in a small bag format containing chunks rather than a bar. From a food technology perspective the larger surface area of the individual bites means each bite can be coated which gives greater control over moisture content, flavour and texture. For example could be crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. A small bag format works well for supermarkets as they fit directly into the snack section.
Hmm. Not appealing so far.
In fact if true I would like to know so I can stock up more bars.
I want a nutrition bar, not a packet of cookies.
