Bars discontinued

Just stock up on them anyway if you like them.

There are many brands that offer all types of bars - with vitamin and mineral addition, as a meal replacement, high protein or whatever you like. Maybe it has never been the flagship product of Huel, so discontinuing them does not cause much harm to their sales numbers. To have a competitive edge you have to offer something that your rivals don’t offer - in some sense it might be a good strategic move. Just bad for those who actually liked these products. But as I said, there are plenty of alternatives out there, or maybe you will like the “replacement snack” even more.

What’s the disadvantage of nutritional cookie bites vs nutritional bars?

Perhaps the texture? Not everybody likes crunchy stuff - especially people who decided to live on shakes.

Erm… looking at bars on Huel website last night and caught a glitch / preview…
Performance cookies?!

Fell asleep shortly after seeing the glitch on web code but had to share,…
Realise these will be in mini bags to get the low calories high protein punch… but can’t help imagining a world with a Black Edition style size bag full of these!

I thought you were making a good joke about performance cookies. Now I’m less sure and tempted to explain what performance cookies are. But you can just google it if you’re not joking.

I was, then I kind of recalled the platform uses functional cookies not performance ones, then I wasn’t sure, then I had an internal meta crisis. then I had a cup of tea. Sans cookies.

Huel could make a killing here. Just send a “do you want cookies?” notification to all customers. We’ll click “accept” without even thinking about it.

the Cookes vs. Biscuits entitled outrage will be off the charts…

I consume both in equal measure.

No please don’t shatter my dream state delusions!

They’re a bunch of dorks at Huel, so I wouldn’t put it past them to call a product Performance Cookies.

And then a cheap version called Functional Cookies.

Actually some websites call them Essential Cookies. Sorted!

@Charlotte_Huel so the cookies are out of the bag…
Any info you can give us now?
I’m trying to decide whether to stock up more bars. But I think the best before may be a problem…,

@ phil:
I don’t think that the clothing line was a failure - actually it was the only thing that friends whom I want to convince to use Huel products liked (I try to convince others to use Huel to put orders together and get a larger bulk discount). But for most people the price may be a problem, and maybe the limited choices.

That the bars haven’t found much resonance was also my impression. I know nobody who liked them. With a new type of snack this might change. Maybe people also want more “crunchy” stuff. It seems to be a sensual quality that is enjoyed by many. And it would be something no other complete food brand offers (at least not to by knowledge). So yes, this strategic move is very likely to have potential - at least depending on the type of snack that will be introduced.
