What’s the FODMAP status on this?
Mac & Cheeze isn’t low FODMAP Fredrik because of the soluble gluco fibre
That’s because you already have Mac & Cheeze in your subscription, so there’s no need to have it in the Try more section.
just tried this for the first time and … banging. Not overly cheesy as others have said but creamy and thickens up very nice. Genuinely an enjoyable Mac and cheese. I did add some black pepper (I know there is some in it already) but delicious and a welcome addition to my huel H&S rotation well done team huel
I’ve just had my third Mac and Cheeze (in 3 days, not all today!) Wanted to try it a few times before forming my judgement.
I have to say on initial tasting I was impressed and I thought it was very tasty. That hasn’t changed in my subsequent meals and I do enjoy it very much.
Thickens up nicely and I would agree that leaving it more like 10 minutes to allow the pasta to soften up properly should be done. Of course this may differ from person to person.
I have to say I’m a big fan so well done all!
So I’ve just tried it. So good. My favourite H&S.
Thanks so much folks, really great to know that this is lived up to your expectations of what a nutritionally complete mac & cheeze would taste like!
Noted. We will keep our eyes on this feedback, as I’ve seen it it in a couple of places.
Keep those reviews coming, we’re so interested to hear how you’re getting along!
Good point. (From all the tries back and forth I obviously forgot, what I did last.)
Changing my subscription to H&S Korma didn’t help though, to the contrary. With this, none of the H&S were available.
When I tried it with a white Huel-abo afterwards, it worked.
And still my plea: A hint or even better a link in the “upcoming delivery” section to where you can order single units would be no improper luxury.
Can’t wait to try this, just have to use my current stash before ordering. Thanks for the reviews all!
thanks, this review actually convinced me to buy mac&cheese, and it’s really good, worth it
I just tried this. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately it didn’t work at all for me. The overpowering flavour was sweet coconut - I didn’t get “cheese” at all.
The pasta was still a bit chewy after 10 mins too so maybe it needs even longer:
Glad it was helpful!
I will add that I’m still full three hours later though which is very good.
I have been so close to ordering mac and cheese but I have had to stop myself. I put my daughter through alot after I ordered green Thai curry. I ate it twice and I ended up under the doctor through it. I don’t know if it was a bad batch, all I know is it made me very ill and I can’t bring myself to do that to my family again
I’m really sorry for the confusion. But you are describing exactly what is intended from the Try more of the Huel range section.
If you already have a subscription to Hot & Savoury, like you do with Korma, and you want to add another flavour of Hot & Savoury or amend the split of flavours (i.e. adding Mac & Cheeze), then you just need to go and edit your upcoming delivery and change the flavours you have ordered. This means you will benefit from bulk discounts etc.
The ‘Try more’ section is so you can try other Huel products, not amend your upcoming subscription flavour preferences. If you had 2 x Vanilla Black Edition pouches in your current subscription, you would not be able to add 1 x Coffee Caramel BE via the ‘Try more’ section. You would do this by editing your upcoming subscription. But you would be able to add a: single bar, single Mac & Cheeze, single pouch of v3.0 etc etc.
Yes, I still have several bags of Hot & Savory that I’m never ever going to eat… maybe the new one’s good, but the minimum order size can’t be this big for new flavors.
Mine should be arriving this week, looking forward to trying it out!
your can return unopened bags for a refund.
I guess I was a little paranoid after reading some reviews here about not leaving the pasta to cook longer, but I think I left it a little too long. It became a little claggy and I could still just about taste that vague coconut background taste you always get in vegan cheese. To loosen it up again I put a little spray of olive oil into the pot with some black pepper and some cashew parmesan and stirred it all up. The taste and texture was really good then and the black pepper eliminated the coconut trace.
Overall, eaten on its own, I’d say it’s the best of the Hot & Savoury bunch so far – I just have to do a little trial and error on the volume of water and waiting time to hit the spot.
I’m really impressed with the Mac and Cheeze. Honestly, it tastes amazing and everybody I let it try doesn’t believe it’s vegan cheese.
Good job Huel team
