This definitely has a biscuity taste too. Bourbons were the first biscuits I actually recall as being âaccidentallyâ vegan back in the day, so Iâve always had a fondness for them.
I used to also like Jack Daniels which has apparently always been vegan - theyâve even said as muchâŠand then 2 months ago they admitted it is actually filtered through sheep wool!!!
Company Facebook post (January 2022)
âJack Danielâs is made from 100% natural ingredients that consist of corn, rye, and barley malt, along with iron-free water that flows from the Distilleryâs cave spring. It is then mellowed through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal. As part of this charcoal mellowing process, a 14 inch wool pad is placed at the bottom of our mellowing vats to help keep the charcoal in the vats while allowing the whiskey to flow through. This pad does not alter the taste of our whiskey whatsoever. Some folks may consider this aspect of our process to be non-Vegan friendly, however, we understand the definition of Vegan-friendly is viewed differently by many people. For some of our friends, our product may not fall into their diet, but that would be their individual decision.â
This is interesting, Iâm hearing that some find it also a bit lacking in flavour. Thanks for the feedback. I will find out about the smoothness for you too.
@charlie7 So, the base recipe of Cookies and Cream is the same as all other BE flavours, it could be slightly smoother due to the cocoa inclusion, however itâs more likely you might just be perceiving it differently, for whatever reason!
Definitely agree with this. I think it tastes great though and definitely a plus point in my eyes.
Tried one scoop cookies and cream and one scoop strawberries and cream yesterday and I really enjoyed that too. Im all too aware how wildly peoples tastes vary on here though so probably not for everyone but itâs always nice when you find a combination you like!
Yeah perhaps I wasnât clear enough in my post - it getâs a thumbs up from me - for both my meals (even the âstrongerâ first one) it was the quickest Iâve ever drunk a Huel - I was guzzling it down - so that tells you something.
Interestingly today I tried 1 scoop of Cookie & Cream, 1 scoop of Salted Caramel, and 1/3 scoop of Banana (which I donât like very much), and the banana taste completely overrode the other two which I really wasnât expecting. This taste stuff is a hard nut to crack!
@ patrick:
I stopped regular eating a long time ago. It works also in the long term, especially nowadays where the products are much better. I wish it had already been like that in the past.
@ Tim:
Your innovation drive is remarkable. Maybe you think again about going to the stock exchange.
And with all the new capital you might also think again about creating a cold brew coffee flavour (especially for BE) ; - )
Having enjoyed RTD chocolate for the last eight months and come to an end of the good old rich chocolate RTD I thought I would go back to Huel Black. I bought a bag of cookies and cream and strawberries and cream.
I really like the strawberries and cream, perfect sweetness and flavour. I am not a fan of the C & C the initial artificial flavour hits you as soon as you sip, and you definitely get the taste of crushed bourbons, it feels like it is missing something, in terms of thickness.
The reason for this post is to say what a revelation mixing the two 50/50 is. Really really good
I donât want to get into which specific constituent of the flavouring is more expensive. We did this with Cinnamon Roll and got stuck in whether it was ceylon or cassia or another. It wasnât that helpful. Cookies and Cream costs a bit more, but we donât plan to only release flavours at a higher price, it just happens that we released 2 back to back
Just had my first Cookies & Cream and absolutely love it. It reminds me of wafer biscuits which Iâm very partial to (but no longer eat as Iâm trying to keep my weight down so this is a brilliant substitute). I got a bag of Cinnamon Swirl too so will try that tomorrow.
