Next generation Bottle / Shaker design

I had thought about that but I didn’t go down that rout for a few reasons.

  • That would require all users to get a whole new shaker, or at least a new lid (that’s a lot of money for consumer or Huel, not to mention the amount of wasted plastic)

  • It would limit the holding capacity to only one portion

  • The thread, whilst possibly slightly helping as an agitator, would make the lid far more frustrating to effectively clean.

On your point about it being easier to keep pouches and scoops at work - that’s fine for those of you with a fixed base of work.

Bring a freelancer I find myself in a different place of work everyday. Sometimes in a truck in the middle of nowhere.

A storage system would be tremendously helpful and make it easier to promote to my colleagues (who are always asking what I’m doing!)

I have, in the past, carried a shaker and a separate Tupperware with the powder. It’s just that a neat integrated solution would be just that - neat.

Especially now the RTD tastes chalky and horrible in the new bottles (see other post!)

Richard.

I have a Core150 shaker. With a 3-compartiments internal storage (circa 3x50 g of powder). This one:

I have NEVER used this internal storage. To be honest, I event don’t understand why and how I should use it.
If I want to carry a portion of powder (≈ 160 g for me), I pour it directly in the shaker.
If I need to carry another portion, I prefer to use a little freezer bag.
Apart from this, this is an excellent shaker.

In theory you’re supposed to put a servings worth of powder in each compartment and then that into the bottle - whilst you have a shake made and ready to be drunk in there too.

Works ok for protein shakes which tend to need both less powder and less water but it’s quite messy. Imagine trying to get your next meal prepped after having used it already for breakfast.

Separate box/bag is much easier.

I’m curious how it would work, but been thinking of less ‘messy’ ways to transport and use portions of Huel powder to use at work. When its cold, the powder gets quite clumpy so was thinking if you used a standard hand held burger press - if you could press a serving of powder into a biscuit for want of a better word - and how that would then dissolve and break up when you added it to the water in a shaker later. I’m just not curious enough to go out and buy one to find out

The only ones that work without loads of mess (in my opinion) are the shaker bottles with compartments you screw onto the bottom of the bottle. They can get pretty tall but there’s no mess at least - but they’re all aimed at protein shakes so the ‘servings’ they’re supposed to hold are often quite a bit less than 100g.

Hi Tristan, BlenderBottle’s ProStack system offers compartments from 100 to 250 cubic centimetres of storage that are interchangeable so more than enough. The BlenderBottles themselves are great shakers.

the compartments also come with their own lids so you either attach them to the base of the shaker or carry them separately as you want.

I like the concept but doesnt seems very practical.

If you are going to need to store some huel for a trip, you can fill a Huel shaker only with the powder and use another shaker just to mix. That way you have like a full day of Huel storage

Aye that’s what I was thinking of. I’ve not seen the ones with bigger containers though, perhaps I should shop around a bit.

I really hope the idea of making it pink hasn’t been taken completely off the table.

OK… über-messy. I knew it was unusable. Plus, my usual Huel portion is 170 g powder + 800 ml water, so impossible to put the compartments into the shaker WITH an already prepared preparation.

I make my lunch shake while drinking my breakfast shake. They will keep for several hours unless you keep them in a car in the sun or other overheated areas. As long as it only one shake you need to bring this might be easier than mucking about with water and powder on site.
