One Month Huel Challenge

Well if you are exercising too as you’re you cant put the results down to Huel alone, as exercise alone will get you the results you require no matter what you are eating.

Weightloss is MUCH easily achieved through diet than exercise.

Look at how long it takes to Jog off a Mars Bar!

As proven by millions of unsuccessful yoyo dieters.

So Athletes and Bodybuilders etc eat what they want so long as they train hard enough?

Yes, they don’t go on diets (apart from nutritionally sound ones) unless they are cutting and even then it is not a “diet” to lose weight.

I happen to have been a top swimmer in the UK, a Muay Thai fighter for over 13 years, a competitive mountain biker, played rugby for the Imps and tennis for the Eastgate.

You burn fat, not starve it.

This isn’t a challenge to see how Huel can make me into a supermodel. It’s a challenge of willpower. The fact that I need to lose weight is just one of the motivations for me to work on my willpower. I’m not a yo-yo dieter at all and I have never undertaken a ‘weight loss diet’, other than eating healthily! Of course I can lose weight whilst eating a healthy solid diet and exercising and I am sure I will lose weight whilst eating a liquid diet and exercising. The point is that Huel is not a diet drink, it’s liquid nutrition. Huel is simply a tool.

You will be fine providing you keep up the exercise once you transition onto a healthy diet after your Huel experiment.

Calories restriction is not the answer though as your metabolism will slow down and you or anyone else will then be stuck, not losing those extra pounds, adding weight again extremely easily at that point if you then eat normally again.

Obviously you cant endlessly restrict calories. This is not directed at you personally, I am just putting it out there.

Good luck with your achieving your goals! :+1:

Good morning! Who’s joining me today?

I was planning on starting this challenge off with a bit of optimism but hasn’t been such a great morning for me. I’ve had a few sleepless nights in a row because some idiots think it’s a good idea to rev their engines in the industrial state at 2 in the morning  I’ve just started my month off with a rather dull mix. I usually drink my Huel with soy milk and it’s pretty tasty but I opted for mostly water for breakfast.

Okay so for breakfast I’m having: 2 level scoops of Huel, 18g of coco powder, 200ml of soy milk and 400ml of water. I worked it out to roughly 418 calories. I’m rating the taste at 2* (out of 5).

I’ll try to be more cheerful for my next post once I chug some coffee! I also took some body shots and measurements this morning. That kind of bummed me out. I’ll probably post those when I have a little progression haha.

For those of you who are joining me, please tell me you’re off to a cheerful start?

I’ve perked up a bit! Got in a 20 minute run. I know it’s not a lot to some but it is to me, I’m normally very sedentary

I haven’t been 100% today, but brekkie and dinner. Aiming for 100% but will Def be 2 out of 3 meals.

That’s a wrap for today. I’m off to bed. I honestly would love to eat a roast dinner right now :joy: I’m not used to eating 3 times a day really so I may just split this into two meals so I don’t have to force down the third. Goodnight!

Guys, I need your encouragement here!

I’m only at the end of day two and I’m already tired of Huel. It’s not that I’m missing eating or the taste of other food but am tired of Huel! I was not expecting that, I really liked the taste. Too much of a good thing?

I’m also in a pickle as I had forgotten that I have a friend travelling to see me tomorrow and I’m supposed to cook us lunch!

Please invent Huel in a pill :grimacing:

Are you using any of the Huel powder flavours?

And cook your friend lunch and you have a Huel, simples! You’re gonna have to be bloody-minded to stick with something like this. There will always be that “friend coming for lunch” or someone’s “birthday meal”. If you fall off the wagon everytime something comes round you may as well jack it in now! :slightly_smiling_face:

What flavour? Go you!

Always vanilla - but I mess around with flavour drops, add powders, used almond or coconut milk or a blend of the two.

I mix it up or have virgin vanilla. I went 100% after 3 days of buying it (January 2016) and never missed a day of it.

I’m very enthusiastic about Huel as you can probably tell.

This is very true. Diet is the primary key to losing weight. Exercise is the primary key to maintaining your weight.

The Mars Bar is a terrific example. It takes ~30 minutes of jogging (or ~50 minutes of walking) to burn those 260 calories.

I find part of sticking to Huel is having it prepared ready.

If I start getting too hungry and it’s not made or chilled I end up snacking on crisp etc
