I think the shipping cost is fixed, no matter what you buy. And the cost of the products is the same UK customers pay.
In the end, I’m sure different stores are like independent business, so they have different factories, different employees, etc. (even that the products are developed using the same formula). That’s why they can have different prices.
Anyway, sorry for the slight off-topic. I believe that this is a great product and the complete food industry desperately needed something like this. I can confidently say that Huel is one of the pioneers of the industry as very few competitors dare to bring out anything savoury in such a fashion.
Looks amazing. I feel pretty confident that I’ll like it so I got 4 of each. There’s always the refund option if not but I doubt it. Not a fan of the price but at least there’s the bulk discount. Looking forward to trying it out.
I have ordered 2 of the tomato and herb and 1 of the Thai green noodle, the latter of which I am sceptical of. If I like either of these it really creates much more flexibility in meal planning. After Huel original flavor was removed in the latest version I introduced cuppa soup into my late afternoon/evening snack (on a long shift). I am therefore interested in the nutritional benefit of these new Huel products.
10g sugar per 100g in the tomato version. Huge. Isn’t’ it?
I wanted to give the thai curry a try as I thought it would be natural unprocessed ingredients but it is not. It looks like laboratory food to me (just my opinion). Being mandatory to buy 3 bags minimum (70€ for something you don’t even know if you’ll like it!!) + the high price tag (I can eat normal savory and balanced food for that price) + only 400 kcal meals are the other reasons why I won’t order
I don’t understand this complaint. If you want a larger meal just make one.
This is quite a weird comment too. The whole point of Huel is that they process the ingredients to create a nutritional profile it would be almost impossible to create “by hand”.
How can you possibly have unprocessed Huel? It’s an oxymoron. Lab food is fab food!
Dan has responded to this here. Click through for more detail.
Hmm, as ever there’s good processing and bad processing, if there was no processing with Hot & Savoury it would be a bag of vegetables and dry rice that you couldn’t eat! H&S is very much the closest we have got to whole unprocessed food.
I’m not sure what you mean by this? We have to give a recommendation for serving size, that’s just how labelling works, but you can add as much or as little as you want. If you want less than 400kcal then just add less, if you want more then add more.
For me the convenience and nutritional value of Huel has always outweighed the product price and aesthetics. From my perspective this is a more convenient alternative to hot meals and better nutrition than cuppa soup or pot noodle. As I’ve said before I don’t need to think about traditional food on shift or at work: I simply just Huel in my backpack and commute to work. To this end I’m eagerly anticipating scoffing my HS Huel out of my large Sports direct mug!
Just spoke to support. My order yesterday hasn’t shipped it’s because of huge order numbers. Sad times but understandable and like the Praying Mantis… I can be patient waiting for my food to appear before me.
You’d be surprised! There’s a big difference between added sugar and natural sugar, and you might be underestimating how much natural sugar is in healthy food. I generally have zero added sugar in my diet, but I easily get 50–60g/day from mostly vegetables and a single apple. This Huel comes to 55g/day for 2000 calories, which seems perfectly normal for a healthy plant-based diet.
Yeah, I missed it first time. It’s right at the bottom of the ordering screen. I noticed it after staring at the page multiple times to look at the mouthwatering pictures while I wait for DPD
The issue is the media have been treating sugar like something that should be completely avoided. When in fact a moderate amount is completely fine. 10g for one meal isn’t bad.
