Why the price of Huel powder is changing with the launch of v3.0

If the v3 Huel contains a lot of highly nutritious components and we can get 100% of every nutrient (2000kcal a day) even with the addition of tapioca then I guess the addition is not too bad unless the GI gets a lot higher. I might have jumped the gun a bit as I don’t eat anything on a daily basis that offers just empty calories. I don’t even eat white bread, I eat only whole grain rye bread.

I know that you prefer Huel’s thick texture just like me so I hope that you found the perfect balance when tapioca was added.

This is absolutely the case, Huel is nutritionally complete at 2000kcal - that’s what you get from all our products.

Our Christmas tree is making good progress, our RTD baubles are looking good, will show you when it’s done!

Early bird catches the vegan worm.

Completely understand, hopefully all those reservations will go away when you try v3.0.

We’re getting there, got to get the basics right first"

They’re oats don’t worry.

Don’t worry about it, I definitely get where you’re coming from. Yeap whole grain bread all the way!

Why I use Huel U&U, and with this version change I see ( to worst IMHO) no added benefits to the most raw and purer version:

  • No sucralose ( the remaining older formula “Original” will have it);
  • Added Kombucha ( always will have any caffeine, even if at trace amounts).
  • Added Kelp ( not assuring people really raw vegan safety, and others with food incompatibilities);
  • A probable increase in GI value ( and the excuse that will be bellow the 55 range is just that)

If I wanted to add kombucha or kelp I could add it on my own, or Huel selling it as add-ons ( as the flavor boosters). So I only see a need to update the price and in sequence add some “goodies” to the powder to be seen as improvements/updates. Probably some market research was made on that regard.

Just my two cents.

All flavoured versions have had sucralose right from the start.

They know that, that’s why they use uu.

They use who?

I know. I was just mentioning that the “Original” formula will remain ( a good thing) but unfortunately has sucralose in it ( that the U&U does not). Even people who mix Original with U&U in different ratios will loose that compromise.

“We are also updating our scoop from 38g to 50g - this means a 400kcal meal of Huel Powder now equals to a nice round 2 scoops (100g).”

So this means new scoops?
No one even mentioned this?

I wanted to mention you @hunzas, among others.
But I wanted to confirm that you get notified when someone uses the word “scoops”, thanks for not letting me down.

…I think that is them mentioning it?

Not specifically except for one and not in my initial response.

I mentioned them, because obviously scoops. But I got no response in the midst of the kelp and tapioca starch saga :flushed:

Nope we mentioned them in the article and I answered someone else’s question here. Obviously no need to reply to the same question from multiple people

Wasn’t going to do a post about this until we launched but don’t see the harm in explaining now, we’ve done a diagram to help:

I didn’t mean the size/cal, I meant the availability/add-on of them, but it could be I missed that info in the article @Tim_Huel. I’ll have another read of it when I get a chance.

In that case, thank you.
Thought I searched this page, guess not… Sorry

In this thread?
Seriously have some doubts in Chrome mobile ‘page search’ function now.

Guess the scoops just didn’t get hyped as much.
They used to seem more important than anything.

Thanks for the explanation and diagram @Tim_Huel. :+1:

Which country are you living in, out of curiosity?

I believe, that despite shipping it over the pacific, distribution is still cheaper in the UK because it’s a teeny tiny island compared to the US
