New Flavour Boosts are here!

120g of unflavoured and unsweetened with 2 x 3g peanut :peanuts: flavour boosts - very disappointed, it’s not a very strong peanut flavour and I could not taste any butter.

I also enjoy this flavour and find it quite refreshing. I have half a flavour boost pack left and considering how best to replicate the taste.

I’d really like to see them bring some of the old flavours back:
Cacao
Coconut & Pineapple
Matcha
Caramel

I think the old Mocha was better too.
I haven’t tried the new mint choc yet but the old one was awesome.

Some of the new ones are pretty fantastic:
Apple cinnamon
Pumpkin spice
Chocolate cherry

I wouldn’t be fussed if they got rid of strawberry, berry, and chocolate.

So, if I could choose any ten from the old and new, my ultimate choice of booster flavours would be (in no particular order):
Apple cinnamon (new)
Pumpkin spice (new)
Chocolate cherry (new)
Cacao (old)
Coconut & Pineapple (old)
Matcha (old)
Caramel (old)
Mint-choc (old)
Mocha (old)
For my final choice I’ll have to wait until I’ve tried peanut butter and banana

How about everyone else?
If you could choose any ten, what would they be?

Try the PB in the blandest flavour premix you have. It’s the runt of the boost litter.

UU then with a tiny bit of original
I might use 80g powder, 400ml water and two sachets of peanut…
If it fails, I have a jar of peanut butter powder which is awesome in Huel.

I really like the unusual flavours - the spiced ones, and things like pineapple coconut, cherry, matcha, cacao. Really nice to have something a bit different.
Personally I think chocolate, berry, banana are pretty boring (and also not that good either… but I guess they are competing against some pretty awesome milkshakes that our taste buds are accustomed to).

I think the new boosts are a success overall. It’s been great to have a change. And altho I’m totally gutted to lose cacao, I’ve gained two spiced ones that I really love. I’m happy that pumpkin spice is so nice. I’m also glad that it seems as good as gingerbread to me (maybe better), so I’m not totally gutted about gingerbread being a limited edition.
I need to try choc cherry again. I never did get round to adding cacao. I love the strong almond cherry flavour and I’m interested to see if extra chocolate makes it completely awesome… in which case I’ll have to stock up

Peanut butter isn’t usually peanut and butter.
It’s a nut butter ie simply peanuts creamed to make a butter like texture.
So, you’re not going to get any ‘butter’ flavour.
There should definitely be the strong flavour of peanuts tho!!
I might try this one tomorrow. I was planning on banana but I’m intrigued by the peanut one.
I also can’t help thinking that peanut plus salted caramel might go well together. I found the salted caramel way too salty, but salt and peanut plus sweetness (I’m thinking of the caramel) work really well together.
I reckon this could be a win.
So… I’m going to try one peanut. And one peanut salted caramel!

I enjoyed this evening’s flavour. It really put the “nice” into Pumpkin Spnice.

Managed to try three more flavours today! Did one sample packet (3g/1tsp) in 75g original Huel and 650ml water for each.

Peanut butter - absolutely flavourless. Genuinely surprised this passed any sort of taste testing. If you’ve ever used powdered PB as an additive and you’re hoping this’ll be similar, prepare to be disappointed. Pretty sure it’d be indistinguishable from Huel + stevia. I even tasted the booster remnants from the sample packet by it’s self and there was no peanut flavour :frowning:

Strawberry - pretty bog standard! If you’re into strawberry/strawberries and cream flavoured protein powders then you’ll be into this. By no means unpleasant but not a flavour I’d go for regularly.

Mocha - I first tried it immediately after shaking which was apparently a horrible mistake. There’s a strong chemical flavour that comes through pretty harshly but it thankfully mellowed out a bit when I let it sit for a few hours. Completely ignoring the chemical taste, it’s kinda like what I’d imagine a hyper sweet version of coffee premix + Hershey’s chocolate syrup would taste like. Not undrinkable but definitely not for me.

Think I’ll try berry and mint chocolate tomorrow!

I’ve seen a couple of posts mentioning PB powder, I’ve used PB straight from the jar. Is using powder better?

The powder mixes into the huel really well with no need for a blender.
Also the powder has less fat, so less calories. If I remember rightly, you are trying to gain weight (?) so you’re better off sticking with whole peanut butter. The oils are good for you and if you need extra calories, you can get quite a lot in a pretty small amount :+1:t2:

I’ve recently thought about adding oil to huel for the extra calorie boost would that work?

Yeah it’s come up on here a few times before

I haven’t tried any of the new flavour boost but I’m really disappointed to see people say PB is bland and tasteless because I love the taste of peanuts

Edit: I’m surprised to see huel have a peanut flavour would that not conflict with the whole allergie free thing they advertise

Should be banned - like they try to ban soya milk, vegan cheese, veggie burgers etc.

There are no peanuts in it. It’s like how beef & onion crisps are suitable for vegetarians.

Huh, that must explain the poor peanut flavour then! I don’t think I even know of another peanut flavoured food/drink that is artificially peanut flavoured…

The ingredient list just says “natural flavourings”, but if they were real nuts they’d have to list them for allergy reasons.

Yeah natural flavourings can mean all sorts of things…many Huel flavours have no relation to the real thing.

Hopefully his support is crumbling. AAAH wrong thread!

there are plenty of other things you could add to boost the calories without resorting to oil  PB2 (powdered peanut butter) and cocoa/cacao powder makes a great drink and adds another 100 calories. other good mixes could be things like pulpy prune juice, dragon fruit, coconut meat/cream, ripe bananas, figs etc. I guess you could also use regular full fat peanut butter but you would be best liquifying it first by adding hot water to it and stirring till its runny enough to shake/blend. You could guinea pig this one and let me know how it goes…
