Am i the only person still using the old 150cal measuring scoops?
I use the new wider ones for H+S but the 150cal measurement works better with my total maths instead of having to work out a half scoop later on.

This came up on my Google home page just now: https://www.core77.com/posts/108825/The-Huel-Shaker-Pretty-and-Designey-But-Looks-to-Have-Usability-Issues
Excluding the fill line issue, it looks like they didnât check out the new scoop. I can definitely imagine not having fun with the current one.
Well⊠even an official video from Huel uses the old scoop and causes a mess⊠That is f⊠horrible to watch (min 0:14). WTFFFFF No wonder why they think there is a flaw in the design.
Does that guy really work for Huel?
He is no @Tim_Huel is he?
The howling at the moon bit is embarrassing
Oh no
No, no, no
Yeah this unfortunately slipped through when filming, not ideal, but lots going on and it can happen. Site has now been updated with version which uses new scoop and weâre gonna reshoot. The journalist I donât believe has actually used the shaker, theyâve written the review based on the video and reading on our website - I think.
why thank you ![]()

Shocked silence
They havenât from what I read @Tim_Huel.
I havenât watched it yet, but Iâm intrigued by the howling @hunzas.
They probably could do with reading @Martyn78âs post on how well it works, especially with the new scoop!
Added one to my next order. Iâm pretty excited to try it. That may or may not be an accurate indication of how non-exciting things are at the moment.
I too have already ordered the new scoop.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but where on the site can I order the new scoops please? Canât see them in accessories. I ordered a pair of the new shakers so I shall likely be needing the new scoop to avoid making a mess.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the reply.
I have a subscription for the H&S due soon, so Iâll see if I can update that subscription to include the scoop after the next order arrives. (obviously I donât need to shake my H&S but the scoops will be useful for either the powder or H&S, and I had to pause my subscription for powder as I have a bit too much at home already).
I received my shaker yesterday and the new scoop, both much better than the old ones. I have used loads of shakers in the past and all have advantages and disadvantages. I really like the new huel one though. Everything lines up perfectly on it, the discreet 500ml mark on it in a great touch, anyone moaning about not being able to work out how much xyz is without the markers, well I worry. You can easily eyeball it plus this keeps the clean esthetic. Itâs looks great and works well plus itâs tritan which is nice.
The scoop is decent as well, much better than the old one so definitely swap over when you get the chance. Good work on the accessories, would now like to see a slight reduction to single purchases rather than the subscription only discount, with so many subs these days itâs like death by a million micro transactions.
well, he has a point - the water in your Huel is not rocket science mission critical - so if you cant mentally work out how much is in it roughly based on two reference points - then you probably have bigger issues. like being super entitled
I have changed my mind, i will withhold any more feedback or comments on the forum. Will avoid being âsuper-entitledâ from this point forwards.
Thankyou for pointing it out.
OK folks, take it easy and play nice. @petmet I absolutely hear you and the others on the fill line. It was a massive consideration for us. After the feedback weâve had we are actually looking into how we could add another fill line, but itâs not an easy thing to do since we already have a mould for this shaker - but itâs not impossible. No promises, but know that it is on our minds.
@Phil_C no one is being entitled, all feedback is helpful. @Kenneth_P thanks for the great comments, all feedback is really appreciated, some might appear as moaning but itâs important for us to hear the good, bad and ugly. We love that this forum is an open space for people to critique and praise.
apologies all, its Friday night and Iâm pretty maxed out as is usual these days. @petmet my apologies, you havenât caught me at my best,
For those really not in love with the new design is it possible to guestimate how long the current stock of buchsteiner ones will be about for? Might help out anyone who prefers those?
Totally appreciate everyoneâs comments, who knew a bottle could be so divisive. My comment wasnât aimed at anyone btw just an observation of years using protein shakes and on/off huel, give 10% liquid wonât make a massive difference and usually I end up muscle memory knowing how much to add for my taste. I think itâs good for people starting out, gives them a reference point but beyond that I just fire in as much as I know will get close to my preferred consistency.
Admittedly the benifit of huel to me is convenience and time saving. I work 12-14 hour days and often find myself skipping meals or grabbing chocolate to get back to work, so anything with nutritional value better than sugar is a win for me me, two scoops in and some milk/water and away. Tbh food for me is more an inconvenience that gets between me and what I want to do so convenience and speed is key.
Btw (and slightly off topic) Iâm from the OG Huel which was mega, gutted when it went, tried V3 original, okay but tried the banana this morning âŠwell done hueligans very nice and probably my go to now so kudos on that as well
My new shaker arrived last Friday and my relationship with it so far is a bit of oscillating pattern. It felt good, but now it is overâŠ
On the first day I made a mess with the old scoop. I had a new scoop but I keep them in the opened powder bag and since I couldnât wait to try also new strawberry and cream that arrived on the same order, grabbed the old one and⊠Old scoop is too big. Learning from mistake, next time I took out the new scoop but even with that it is too exact science to me. I used spoon instead.
I cleaned the old shaker by disassembling and cleaning each part separately, sticking my hand into the bottom one. I read you made statistical analysis and 60/70% of UK/USA population can get their hands into the new one. It could be something different about continental EU
, but I canât get my hand into the new one. But then I read the manual. Indeed, just filling a third of volume with warm water and shaking a few times does help a lot. Eventually, I learned to clean it and was very satisfied compared to the old one. New shaker is simpler form and simpler forms catch less other forms⊠That is until today - more to that later.
Shaking was also somehow more pleasant - both assembling and shaking. With old shaker, I was constantly worried about not aligning top and bottom parts and while thread allowed to screw the top on, it ended misaligned and leaking. Sometimes it took me 2-3 attempts to have it properly assembled. The new shaker is much better. I used it twice a day and so far - as easy as it gets.
Then again, it is too easy. From the first day it felt like the top part opening is somehow too big. No, the threads matched when screwing it on and didnât leak. It was just the feeling when screwing the top on. That is - until I put all the parts in the dishwasher last evening. Took out this morning, assembled and it leaks through the threads between top and bottom parts - is if the top part expanded more in the dishwasher than the bottom one.
So unless it sets in, looks like I am done with this shaker unfortunately. If I was not supposed to put ALL parts in the dishwasher, please, indicate that in the documentation and preferably on the parts themselves. I saw dishwasher safe mentioned on Huel site and marking on the bottom (white) part. I didnât spot anything about top parts. On the other hand, if all parts are supposed to be dishwasher safe, please test them better. I use my dishwasher on Auto that changes temperature on its own and it can go as high as 65-70 Celsius. If temperature has something to do about the top part - please tell it. Or is it manufacturing defect instead?
